These Travis Kelce Outfits Convinced Me to Root for the Chiefs
While I love a play-action QB sneak or diving one-handed catch, I am unashamed to say that my primary reason for watching football is the men. There is truly nothing I'd rather do on a Sunday than watch buff NFL players bodyslam each other while simultaneously internet stalking their best outfits, relationship statuses, and current salaries.
Each season when my team is eliminated from the playoffs, I begin rooting for the remaining teams based solely on which offers a larger pool of potential husbands. Whichever team has a greater number of well-dressed hunks is the one I'll cheer on proudly as if it was my own. Thanks to my definitely-not-scientifically-proven theory that the better-dressed team always wins, picking a Superbowl LV winner was a no-brainer thanks to one man: Travis Kelce.
In addition to being one of the best tight ends (both the position and literal asses) in the game, Travis Kelce is also one of the NFL's best-dressed players. Though Tom Brady may be the GOAT on the field, these Travis Kelce outfits make the Kansas City Chiefs the real winners IMO. See for yourself below.
All GOATS aside, these Travis Kelce outfits are the real reason I’m rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs in Superbowl LV.
His Zebra-Print Celine Coat
On his way to the Chiefs' away game against the Denver Broncos, Kelce sported a yellow zebra-print Celine coat over a black tee and a pair of Amiri leather cargo pants. To top off the 'fit, Kelce added a cuffed black beanie, layered chains, and a pair of Louis Vuitton creeper boots. To further prove my theory that the best-dressed team wins, Kansas City creamed Denver 43-16 the next day.
This Playful Printed Suit
Unlike most men, Kelce doesn't stick to simple colors and subtle prints when it comes to tailoring. The star tight end isn't afraid to sport an eclectic suit, like this abstract geometric printed number by Frere, during travel days and press conferences.
This Aesthetically-Pleasing Palette
Travis Kelce often wears suits and coordinated sets from Frere, an Italian tailoring house loved by celebs and professional athletes alike. To create this aesthetically-pleasing post-practice outfit, he paired a printed Frere tracksuit with Louis Vuitton 1.1 Milliionares sunglasses and an LV-printed Carryall duffel bag.
His $18,000 Louis Vuitton Robe
Kelce sported a shearling monogrammed Louis Vuitton coat— worth a cool $18,600— during the Kansas City Chiefs victory parade after Superbowl LIV. The coat's $18,600 price tag didn't stop Kelce and his QB Patrick Mahomes from celebrating their win.
This Travel Day Cardigan
In this travel day look, Travis proves that real men wear cardigans (and own Louis Vuitton luggage). His cozy striped cardigan, fitted white tee, and basic black trousers make for the perfect airplane outfit.
Again proving my theory that well-dressed men play better, Travis wore this look on the way home from a 33-27 win over the Miami Dolphins, where he had 8 receptions for 136 yards and a TD.
These Matching Silk Pajamas
While I love a man in a suit, Kelce's matching sets are where he really shows his fashion skills. This teal pajama-inspired set is from Rochambeau, a New-York based brand that's another one of Kelce's favorites.
His Pink Sweater
Kelce's impeccable taste in accessories is another reason why I love his style. While other players overdose on flashy chains, he opts for a more subtle flex of his four year $57 million contract extension. According to Kelce's girlfriend (sheds tear), media host Kayla Nicole, he styles all his looks himself and doesn't work with a professional stylist.
This Dior Drip
Kelce sported this floral-print Dior set while picking up his Superbowl LIV ring. Per usual, he throws in few subtle flexes that show off his fashion chops: a pair of $17,500 Nike x Dior Air Jordans and silver Louis Vuitton Joystorm sunglasses.
His Perfectly-Tailored ESPYS Suit
Behind every best-dressed NFL player, there's an expensive tailor that makes it all possible. At 6 ft 5 in and 260 lbs, Kelce's suits require careful tailoring to fit his large frame and show off his Superbowl-winning biceps. This navy suit, worn to the 2018 ESPY Awards, fits like a glove.
This Neon Nike Tracksuit
As if being a record-setting tight end wasn't enough, Travis Kelce also started his own lifestyle brand called Tru Kolors. “I like to show off who I am through what I wear,” says Kelce. “I think colors are a unique way to connect people and an amazing way to express yourself. We’re all in this together — be you, stay true. And always rep your Tru Kolors.”
In this off-season look from 2018, he paired this colorful neon Nike tracksuit with crisp white Del Toro sneakers and a hot pink baseball hat.
His Tiger Kenzo Sweater
In March 2019, Kelce stepped off the plane in this orange Kenzo sweater with a tiger graphic and a pair of light grey trousers. During an interview with Sports Illustrated, he credited Deion Sanders, Ric Flair, and 1980s movies as the inspiration behind his signature style.
This Floral Shirt & Chest Hair Combo
Thankfully, Travis Kelce's outfits have started receiving the attention they rightfully deserve. In 2018 and 2019, he was selected for the Sports Illustrated Fashionable 50, an award given to the year's most stylish professional athletes.
While most football fans are looking forward to the Brady vs. Mahomes matchup in Superbowl LV, it's Travis' tunnel fit I'm most excited to see. Because as Travis says, "You've got to fight for your right to paaaaaaarty!"
